It has always been a goal to be part of BSAF. In past years, Brisbane has changed because of this festival and the talent worldwide it has brought to our city.

This piece depicts the inauguration of a young monarch. The subject of the artwork represents the vigour of youth, whilst the crown represents the youth’s ambition. The posterity is hopeful to reverse the shortcomings of the past, however sadly sometimes the mistakes of the past are repeated – the background of ‘Potentate’ alludes to this notion by referencing the digital copy and paste processes.

We placed this artwork on Little Stanley St right alongside the Southbank Parklands. There, lies 4 large carpark vents that were bold red. Now lies 5 artworks from Rick Hayward, Shock Jr. Claire Foxton, Jasmine Crisp and ourselves. Following the artwork, we were able to chat all things Art in a panel with the artists whose work lies on the street. A great experience and opportunity to do some live painting with an audience and interact with the community.
